Skid School changes Changes for Covid-19 safety precautions
Beginning with the May 31 program, the following changes will be in effect:
- Our instructors will be wearing medical masks and nitrile gloves in the cars. The door handles, controls and steering wheel will be wiped down between students. Social distancing will apply for all our activities. We will have masks and gloves available for those who need them. We ask everyone to bring and wear masks and gloves while attending the program.
- There will be two sessions per day for a maximum of twelve drivers. The first will be from 8:30 AM to 12:00; the second from 1:00 to 4:30. This gives us much less waiting between turns and at least as much, and perhaps more, drive time per student than with the single-session format. In the 2000’s, we trained 6,000 new drivers in Massachusetts using this format, so It is a change we are comfortable with. Registration on the website will include an opportunity to choose the morning or afternoon session.
- Our 42’ trailer has served as a classroom for many years. Because we cannot comply with social distancing guidelines within the confined space and narrow configuration of the trailer, we have chosen to keep the class outside. There will still be access to the coffee bar and restroom with appropriate guidelines, and there will be shade/shelter in addition to the existing 24’ x 8’ awning.
